D.El.Ed (B.T.C)

The Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.), formerly known as Basic Training Certificate (B.T.C.), is a professional teacher-training programme designed to prepare aspiring teachers for teaching at the elementary level. The course focuses on developing the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and teaching competencies required to create an effective and child-friendly learning environment. The D.El.Ed. programme provides comprehensive training in child development, educational psychology, teaching methodologies, classroom management, assessment and evaluation, inclusive education, and modern educational practices. Students are also given opportunities for practical teaching and school-based training, enabling them to apply their theoretical knowledge in real classroom situations. Our college aims to provide quality teacher education through experienced faculty, practical learning, innovative teaching methods, academic guidance, and a supportive learning environment. The course encourages future teachers to understand the diverse needs of children and to develop creative, inclusive, and learner-centred approaches to education. On successful completion of the D.El.Ed. (B.T.C.) course, students develop the professional competence and confidence needed to pursue opportunities in elementary education and related teaching fields, subject to the eligibility and recruitment requirements applicable in the relevant state or authority.
